The second Aviva Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Singapore 2008 takes place on Sunday 7 September 2008. It is a world-class international triathlon competition managed by the World Triathlon Corporation and held in various locations across the world. The Singapore event will pay an incredible US$50,000 overall prize purse, equal to the world’s best and a first for an Ironman 70.3 event outside of the USA ! - the big prize money has caused major professional names to sign up, including Australian international and defending Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore Champion Belinda Granger (who this year added to her Singapore title with victory in Ironman Malaysia). Registration is now open and closes on Sunday 10 August (or sooner if the maximum field of 1,500 individual slots and 500 team slots is reached); individual entry costs S$$345 until the early bird Monday 31 March deadline and S$370 thereafter, while Iron team entry costs S$700.
